Liverpool are currently on the lookout for a new manager in wake of the shock news involving Jurgen Klopp’s future at Anfield.
The Reds boss announced earlier this year that he would be stepping down from the Anfield hotseat in the summer.
“I will leave the club at the end of the season,” Klopp said in a video shared by the Liverpool media team. “I understand that it’s a shock.”
The 56-year-old, whose Reds contract was set to run until the summer of 2026, attributed his decision to “running out of energy”.
A number of managers have been linked with the Liverpool hotseat. Xabi Alonso appears to be the Reds’ desired target, but other names are doing the rounds.

For instance, The Guardian reported in March that Brighton & Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon and Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann are also on the Reds radar.
Of those, De Zerbi is the manager most Premier League fans will be familiar with, thanks to his efforts with the south coast club.
Gary Neville has now spoken about the reported Liverpool target on The Overlap.
And while he was speaking about De Zerbi in the context of West Ham, it shows just how highly rated the Italian is and what a good job he’s doing at Brighton.
He said: “I think a lot [of managers would want to come]. West Ham would be a really sought after club because you have a really good group of players.
“I think De Zerbi comes to Brighton and plays football that is out of this world.”

Alongside Xabi Alonso, it’s no surprise to hear that Liverpool are reportedly looking at the “world-class” De Zerbi, in Levi Colwill’s words.
The 44-year-old has been a revelation at Brighton thanks to his impressive brand of attacking football, not to mention the world-class recruitment that the Seagulls are now becoming famous for.
Over the coming months there will likely be a lot more speculation on the Liverpool managerial front, so let’s see who enters the frame and who the Reds will be pursuing.
