Two of Liverpool’s stars returned to the club for their first day of pre-season under new head coach Arne Slot.
Many of Liverpool’s senior stars remain occupied this summer at the Copa America and Euros, but having been left off their national teams for the Paris Summer Olympics, Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah are back at the club’s training grounds.
The duo returned today, slightly later than other squad members without major national team commitments this summer, did their first exercises of pre-season, and spoke in person for the first time with newly arrived Liverpool head coach Arne Slot.
Also, because it’s Mohamed Salah, there were thirst trap photos to be taken.
Liverpool stars Alexis Mac Allister of Argentina, Darwin Nuñez of Uruguay, and Luis Diaz of Colombia along with Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo of Netherlands and Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold of remain in action at the summer tournaments.
Ibrahima Konaté was recently eliminated with France. All players spending time with their national teams this summer are entitled to two weeks off following their tournament eliminations and before returning to their clubs to begin pre-season.
