Trent Alexander-Arnold has now claimed that one player who left Liverpool in recent years had a similar skill-set to Cristiano Ronaldo.
It’s been a frustrating season for the defender, who hasn’t been able to regularly offer his services to Jurgen Klopp in his final season.

Of course, that has paved the way for Conor Bradley to start his fledgling Liverpool career, a player who looks to have so much potential.
But Trent’s incredible passing range and aura on the pitch has been missed, and he will return to the team when they need him most.
That being said, Trent has recently been speaking with Gary Neville on The Overlap, discussing the season and his role as a full-back.
And during their chat, the duo got onto the topic of Sadio Mane.
Currently playing his football for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, 32-year-old Mane left Liverpool to join Bayern Munich back in 2022.
Trent Alexander-Arnold says former Liverpool man Sadio Mane was just like Cristiano Ronaldo
Speaking in the interview, Trent admitted that he would have hated to play against Mane in a competitive game, given how difficult he was to handle in training.
Neville initially asked: “How good was Mane by the way? His runs, he would have caused me a massive problem.”
Photo by Yasser Bakhsh/Getty ImagesTrent replied: “Same. He’s the one player I have played against [in training] who I have thought I am glad I don’t have to play against him.”
Neville: “He would have caused me nightmares. He would have been my worst nightmare.”
Trent: “He was the perfect attacker you know. He had everything. As an athlete, probably in the end he was similar to Ronaldo, you know.
“He had the jump, he could get up, he was fast, he could finish. His finishing probably wasn’t the same but he could finish with both feet. He was just a threat at all times.”
Of course, Liverpool could have benefitted from a finisher like Mane on Sunday, when they may have surrendered the league title to Manchester City.
It seems dramatic to say with six games still left to play, but Pep Guardiola’s side have been here so many times before, and they don’t often slip up.
In order to stand any chance, Liverpool desperately need Darwin Nunez to find his ruthless streak again, otherwise the onus will now be on Diogo Jota.
All that being said, Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool have a ‘huge problem’ forming now.
