'Outstanding': Peter Crouch blown away by two Liverpool players v Brentford today

Liverpool hammered Brentford today as Jurgen Klopp’s side once again brushed another Premier League team aside with ease.

The Reds were brilliant and clinical in their play and in the final third they simply punished what was some lacklustre defending from the Bees at times.

Of course, Liverpool will care little about how the goals came about and their concern now will be how quickly the likes of Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota recover from the injuries they picked up in the game.

In terms of the actual game, there was a lot to like, including Darwin Nunez’s opening goal.

And speaking about the goal, former Red Peter Crouch told TNT Sports that both the build up play from Diogo Jota and then the finish from Nunez left a lot to admire.

“There was so much to admire. It was a big whack up field but what Liverpool have is pace. The presence of mind by Jota to bring Nunez in [was superb] and the finish from Nunez was outstanding. What a finish,” Crouch said.

Jota and Nunez are a nightmare

In terms of forward players who do not give defenders a moments rest, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are among the very best in Europe.

The Liverpool pair are simply non-stop in their pressing and work-rate and crucially, they both get goals and assists as well.

Jurgen Klopp must be delighted with what he gets from them and with the likes of Salah, Elliott and Gakpo helping out as well, the Reds are blessed with options.

Liverpool are right in the mix to win the Premier League title and the fact they have players like Jota and Nunez doing the business only strengthens their cause.

As Crouch says here, the link up play for the opening goal was superb and Liverpool fans will hope to see more of that between now and May.
