Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been singing the praises of his striker Darwin Nunez ahead of this weekend’s game with Arsenal.
The German boss is leaving in the summer but knows he can bow out on a high by winning the league.
Nunez, one of Klopp’s most expensive signings since being manager of the Reds, has been playing well in recent weeks and hit the woodwork a number of times against Chelsea before laying on a goal for Luis Diaz.
And despite not getting the goals he might feel he deserves, Klopp has lauded Nunez for his overall performances.

Speaking in his official post match presser, Klopp was quick to point out what he finds so pleasing about the Uruguayan striker.
“Going through this game in pain, shows so much more about him. I don’t judge Darwin when he hits the post, I judge him for the assist for Diaz, the run was super, puts the ball in, outstanding football. Not being bothered about your own bad luck. More than happy with him,” Klopp said.
One of the best in the league
Nunez seems to get a lot of stick for missing chances but overall, his performances have been excellent as Klopp says.
The Liverpool star is an absolute nightmare to play against for any defender and that unpredictability in his game actually makes him a bit harder to play against.
Nunez can easily go on at some point to have a season where he scores 30-40 goals. Indeed, he’s already got 11 goals and the same number of assists this season, despite people assuming he’s been poor.
Nunez will remain a massive player for his Liverpool team for years to come. And if the Reds do win a trophy this season, you can bet he’s been a key player in that success.
