Liverpool fans may have just received a big boost with news that one of Jurgen Klopp’s stars may now sign a new contract.
Klopp’s side embark on their EFL Cup semi-final against Fulham tonight without a host of their star names.

It seems Virgil Van Dijk may make a timely return to the starting XI after his illness, something that will be a boost.
However, the best news of today may come at the hands of journalist Neil Jones.
According to Jones, it seems that Mohamed Salah may now be prepared to sign a new contract with Liverpool.
31-year-old Salah’s current deal runs until the summer of 2025, and Jones had reason for optimism.
Publishing on his substack, he said: “Mo Salah’s future, in particular, is one to watch.
“My personal opinion is that the last six months must have shown him the dangers of moving to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career, and that he must surely be thinking about the idea of extending his stay in Europe, and at Liverpool.
“I can’t speak to Salah’s mindset, but I know he’s an ambitious character and that the best place to fulfil those ambitions is not in Riyadh or Jeddah.”
Journalist thinks Mohamed Salah might sign a new contract with Liverpool
Although Klopp has shown a willingness to move on a lot of his senior figures over the past year or so, Salah’s situation is different.
The £34m Egyptian is still the side’s key man, and he’s really showing little signs of slowing down in his thirties.

And there probably won’t be a Liverpool fan in existence that wouldn’t be happy to see Salah sign a new contract.
That being said, it seems Liverpool’s owners have now lined up an eye-catching replacement in the event that Salah did leave.
Fans will hope that’s not that case, but it bodes well that the club are still prepared for both outcomes.
