Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool have internally discussed an approach for Roberto De Zerbi.
Romano, writing on GiveMeSport, says the Brighton & Hove Albion manager is on the Reds wish-list “for sure”.
Liverpool have started looking for the individual who’ll take the reins from Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
The 56-year-old, whose Reds contract was due to run until the summer of 2026, attributed his decision to “running out of energy”.
Roberto De Zerbi ‘one of the options’ for Liverpool
De Zerbi has emerged as an early candidate to replace Klopp at Liverpool thanks to the impressive work he has done at Brighton.
And Romano says the Reds hierarchy will likely target the 44-year-old Italian at the end of the campaign.
“Roberto De Zerbi is another manager they have discussed internally as one of the options,” he said. “So this name for sure will be on the shortlist.

“It’s never easy to come into a club like Liverpool and make an impact at the same level of Jurgen Klopp.
“They will speak internally, they will have a new director and then they will decide who is going to be the new coach.”
Liverpool target Roberto De Zerbi is a ‘world-class’ coach
Alongside Xabi Alonso, it’s no surprise to hear that Liverpool are reportedly looking at the “world-class” De Zerbi (in Levi Colwill’s words).
The 44-year-old has been a revelation at Brighton thanks to his impressive brand of attacking football, not to mention the world-class recruitment that the Seagulls are now becoming famous for.
Over the coming months there will likely be a lot of speculation on this front, so let’s see who enters the frame and who Liverpool will be pursuing.
