Liverpool drew with Arsenal yesterday at Anfield and Micah Richards was left blown away by how good Trent Alexander-Arnold was again.
The Liverpool defender was involved in a lot of the good bits of play for the Reds and it was his fine pass that let Mo Salah in to get the equaliser.
Trent also had a big chance to win the game as well as he hit the bar late on. It wasn’t to be, though, and the defender and Liverpool had to settle for a point.
But despite the draw, Micah Richards was left in awe of Alexander-Arnold as he sung his praises on Match of the Day last night.
Micah Richards seriously impressed by Trent Alexander-Arnold
Speaking about Alexander-Arnold’s range of passing and his movement, Richards admitted he doesn’t think the Premier League has seen anyone like it.
“He’s absolutely special. Trent Alexander-Arnold was just exceptional today, especially with his passing. But it’s not just his passing, it’s the space he creates himself to make them. In this position, the right back position, but he just knows when to pass it, the weight of the pass is just brilliant as well to set up an attack. I don’t know a defender who can set up attacks like this. One of the best I’ve ever seen in the Premier League era. Just look at the way he caresses the ball. The timing, everything is just brilliant. 57 Premier League assists. He’s unbelievable, watching him. It’s brilliant to see it really is,” Richards said.

When Trent first came into the team as a right-back and a right-back only, there were signs he’d got something special in the locker.
However, the way he’s performing now is quite sensational and he’s producing moments that few players in the league can do. As Richards says, his range and execution of pass is mesmerising to watch and Liverpool are so lucky to have a player like him.
Jurgen Klopp deserves credit for turning him into this playmaker as well. The Reds boss has shown faith and patience in his man and he’s now reaping the rewards.
