David Seaman has admitted he was surprised to see Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk pick up the Man of the Match award in yesterday’s final.
Virgil van Dijk netted the winner for Liverpool in extra time to hand them a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley.
The Dutchman thought he had opened the scoring in the second half only to be denied by a controversial VAR offside call.
Despite missing several key players, Liverpool delivered a resolute team performance on the day and one man who particularly caught the eye was Caoimhin Kelleher.

The 25-year-old pulled off some exceptional saves on the day, with his stops to deny Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer keeping the scoreline level.
And David Seaman believes Kelleher should have picked up the Player of the Match award over Van Dijk.
Seaman says Kelleher should have been named Man of the Match
Speaking on Seaman Says, the Arsenal legend lauded Kelleher after his heroics in yesterday’s final.
“How Van Dijk got Man of the Match, I will never know! Yep, great header, some proper defending, but Kelleher, oh my word! The saves that he made.
“The one against Gallagher at the end, that was really special. The way that he made that save from Gallagher was brilliant,” Seaman said.

Nevertheless, the most important thing for Liverpool is that they ended the day with yet another trophy in the cabinet.
Both Van Dijk and Kelleher were exceptional on the day, alongside a host of their teammates who also stepped up despite the odds being stacked against them due to injuries.
