'Off the pace': ESPN pundit says £34m Liverpool player was so 'sloppy' against Manchester United

ESPN pundit Stewart Robson has claimed that Mohamed Salah was really poor for Liverpool against Manchester United on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp‘s men were the favourites to win the game at Old Trafford, and Salah, as he usually is, was supposed to be their main man. However, things didn’t quite go to plan for Liverpool.

ESPN pundit says Mohamed Salah was ‘sloppy’ for Liverpool vs Manchester United

Manchester United were all over Liverpool early on in the game, weren’t they?

Scott McTominay gave them the lead after just 10 minutes, and the Red Devils could’ve easily scored one or two more at that stage.

Liverpool fought back well and took the lead before half-time thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah in the space of three minutes.

Even though the £34 million (BBC) Egyptian got on the score sheet, it was far from his best game, and Stewart Robson has now claimed that Salah was really sloppy on Sunday.

Speaking on ESPN, the pundit said: “One player, in particular, looked rusty, and that was Mo Salah.

“Yes, Wan Bissaka did a good job on him but there were three times when Mo Salah had a chance to play the final pass or play the final cross or get his shot away, and he was sloppy and looked off the pace.

“I don’t quite know why that was.”

Salah will return to his best soon

It’s not very often that Mohamed Salah has a sloppy game for Liverpool.

Sunday’s clash against Manchester United was one of the rare occasions where he seemed miles off it, but he still managed to get on the score sheet.

That shows just how ridiculous a player he really is.

Salah will get some time off now that we’ve entered the international break. He has not gone away with Egypt and will have a lot of time to recharge.

When domestic football returns at the end of this month, we’re convinced he will start firing again, and that could make a huge difference for Liverpool in their pursuit of the Premier League and Europa League titles.
