Micah Richards has given his verdict on Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo after watching him against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield.
The former Manchester City star was hugely impressed by the display produced by Mainoo against Liverpool at Anfield this past weekend.
So, what has Micah Richards said about Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo? Let’s take a look.
Praise for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo
Well, Micah Richards has been raving about Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
The former Manchester City star was impressed by the shift put in by the teenager against Liverpool at Anfield this past weekend.
Richards has noted that the 18-year-old midfielder did not try anything flashy and did his job quietly and without any fuss.
The BBC Sport pundit was impressed by the maturity that Mainoo showed against Liverpool.
Richards believes that the teenager has been outstanding for United whenever he has played this season.
Mainoo has made three appearances in the Premier League and has played 42 minutes in the UEFA Champions League for United this season.

“The games that he has played in away from home, big games. He did well at Everton, I think I remember that game.
“He did well against Liverpool, getting on the ball and just doing the basic things, nothing too extravagant, just doing the basics really well, tackling when he needs to, right positions, he is obviously comfortable on the ball, he took no risks.”
The pundit added: “He has a really level, mature performance, and I just thought that he was outstanding.”
Let’s not overhype Kobbie Mainoo
In my view, we should not go overboard in our praise of Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, a player that manager Erik ten Hag really likes.
Now, I am not saying that United fans should not be excited about Mainoo. Of course, they should be.
After all, Mainoo is a very talented and promising teenager who has come through the club’s academy. He is making an impact in the first team under manager Erik ten Hag.
But, I urge caution. Let us allow Mainoo to develop and progress at his own pace. Let us not put too much pressure on him and build him up to something he is not yet.
