Liverpool huffed and puffed at Nottingham Forest today in what was a frustrating day at the office for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Despite being in fine form in the last few months, there was an element of injuries and squad problems catching up on them today as they struggled to get properly going against Forest.
Liverpool did have some key players back involved, as the likes of Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai returned to proceedings off the bench.
The Reds have missed both players recently, especially Nunez’s fiery personality at the top of the pitch and his ability to cause problems.

However, Gakpo opted for glory, and as confirmed by the BBC comms teams, Nunez was left seriously unimpressed with the passage of play from the £35m Dutch striker.
Of course, Nunez got the winner in the end so all will be forgotten. But there’s a lesson to be learned here.
Liverpool can’t afford to be wasteful
When you’re chasing Premier League titles and in the midst of an injury crisis, your forwards need to take their chances and Liverpool were more than wasteful at times today.
This from Nunez and Gakpo just summed up the frustrations really as Gakpo failed to recognise a good situation and made the wrong decision.
Jurgen Klopp will not be happy with seeing his forward players fail to take the few clear chances they had.
With this one, Gakpo could definitely have done more to help the Reds get the goal and it will be a huge cause of annoyance in the changing room afterwards.
Liverpool’s title challenge is still there but they can’t afford to miss big chances like they did at times today.
