Alan Shearer has given his verdict on the performance of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

So, what has Alan Shearer said about Bukayo Saka? Let’s take a look.

Alan Shearer disappointed with Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka vs Liverpool

Well, Arsenal took on Premier League rivals Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Liverpool won the match 2-0. An own goal from Jakub Kiwior saw Jurgen Klopp’s side take the lead on 80 minutes. Luis Diaz found the back of the net in the fifth minute of injury time. Trent Alexander-Arnold played well.

Bukayo Saka started the tie for Arsenal. The 22-year-old England international winger started the match on the right of a front-three and played for the entire 90 minutes.

The England international winger has not been at his best in recent matches, and Saka once again failed to do a great deal against Liverpool.

Although the winger caused Liverpool problems on occasions in the first half, he could not finish and could not always deliver the killer ball.

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer was on co-commentary duty for the FA Cup tie on BBC One, and he was not impressed by the display produced by Saka.

Shearer said about Saka on BBC One: “Not been at his best today has Saka.”

My View: Arsenal should stay positive

In my opinion, Arsenal need to step up their game. The Gunners are going through a bad spell at the moment. Mikel Arteta’s side have lost their last three matches in all competitions.

I personally do not think that losing to Liverpool in the FA Cup is a big deal for Arsenal. Of course, the Gunners would have loved to win the competition, but their main target this season is to win the Premier League.

And, let us not forget, Arsenal will also have knockout UEFA Champions League football to look forward to.
