Andre Trindade is set to move to Europe in January.
The Brazilian midfielder has just won the Copa Libertadores with Fluminense and it’s thought that triumph will mark the closure of the South American chapter of his career.
The young midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to England with both Fulham and Arsenal strongly linked, but it is Liverpool who have been mentioned more than any other club in connection with Andre.
Speaking on Kick, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the Brazilian, and, interestingly he’s poured cold water on these Liverpool rumours.
Romano says that while Andre is a player Liverpool like, he’s not a top priority for the Reds at the moment.

Romano shared what he knows about the £25m man.
“Yes and it’s still the same situation so. At the moment I don’t have any big update. For Liverpool he remains a player who is appreciated, but he’s not a priority. At the moment Liverpool are not negotiating or pushing. He’s a player Liverpool know very well because they wanted to sign him in August, but it’s not something that’s happening right now and there are other clubs in the race for Andre,” Romano said.
Don’t need him
While Andre would be a nice addition to this Liverpool side, it’s hard to say that the Reds are desperate for a player of this ilk.
They signed four midfielders in the summer, while Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic are all improving every single time they step onto the pitch.
Liverpool do have work to do in January, but a new midfielder may no longer be at the top of their list of priorities after a very busy summer of recruitment in that area.
Andre is certainly a player to keep an eye on though as it’s just a matter of time before he leaves Fluminense.
