Jurgen Klopp has mentioned Arsenal at his pre-match press conference today (Friday) ahead of facing Chelsea.
Klopp was asked about Graham Potter’s time at Stamford Bridge before he takes on the Englishman at Anfield tomorrow lunchtime.
The German was keen to reference the injuries that both the Reds and the Blues have suffered so far this season, as they sit ninth and tenth respectively.
And he suggested that Arsenal would not be sitting five points clear at the top of the Premier League if they had the same injury issues Liverpool are dealing with.

Klopp said: “When we did the analysis meeting and you get the list from the other team and then see the injuries, I think Chelsea are the only other team with a similar injury list like ours. It’s tough.
“That’s the biggest problem. Honestly, Arsenal deserves where they are at the moment. They play outstanding football, top, top, top.
“But if you cut out five players or three of their offensive players, nobody would think ‘oh where are you in the table?’. So that’s what it is and the injuries are a massive problem.”
Liverpool seem to have suffered a mental and physical toll from playing every available game last season, and coming up short in the Premier League and Champions League.
For the last few years, it has seemed that if Manchester City dropped off, Liverpool would be there waiting to pounce, but this year it is Arsenal making the running.
Of course, injuries would impact any top club but as Jose Enrique says above, there is more to it than just fitness problems for both Liverpool and Chelsea.
