Liverpool were forced to act on deadline day as they signed Arthur Melo from Juventus but everyone knows they really want Jude Bellingham.

It‘s well known that the Reds fancy signing the impressive Englishman. They are said to have asked the question this summer but Dortmund have been resolute in keeping hold of the former Birmingham man.

However, all is not lost for Liverpool when it comes to Bellingham and speaking on his YouTube channel today, Fabrizio Romano has said that the Reds will be part of a ‘crazy’ race to sign the youngster next summer.

“They have Arthur Melo from Juventus. But, be sure, that next summer, Liverpool will go for a really important midfielder, dreaming again of Jude Bellingham but it will be a really crazy race,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

Of course, it remains to be seen if Liverpool will be Bellingham’s preferred club. Erling Haaland has previously lauded Bellingham as a ‘crazy‘ talent and with him now at Man City, that might be an appealing option too.

As Romano says, the race to sign Bellingham will be a momentous one and it remains to be seen just who will stump up the cash and right project to sign the England man.

TBR’s View: Liverpool Need Bellingham

This is the one big area Liverpool need to look to add to in the next few windows. Their midfield is already looking a bit past its sell by date and that was why Klopp moved for Melo on deadline day.

The future is Bellingham, though. The Dortmund man is simply brilliant and if Liverpool do want to secure their midfield future, then he is the man they need to go all out for.

Sure, he’ll cost a huge sum. But sometimes you need to bite the bullet and Jude Bellingham will warrant big attention next summer from the Reds.
