159 Newcastle United are eyeing a move to appoint Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager in the summer – the German has also been linked with the Liverpool job.
Eddie Howe has done a remarkable job at St James’ Park since taking charge of the club back in November 2021. He saved them from relegation and then took them to the Champions League. However, recent results haven’t been great, and it has now been claimed that Nagelsmann is being eyed as his successor.

Newcastle United‘s season has been troubled by a ton of injuries. The Magpies, as a result, have had their struggles.
Eddie Howe’s side finished bottom of their Champions League group and are currently 10th in the Premier League table, 15 points behind Aston Villa, who are in fourth.
The Magpies boss will be hoping to turn things around in the final few months of the season, but if German journalist Christian Falk is to be believed, PIF are already looking for options to replace him.
The BILD reporter revealed on X a few minutes ago that Newcastle have their eyes on Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann as a potential candidate to replace Howe in the summer.
The ‘phenomenal‘ 36-year-old, however, is yet to decide if he will come back to club football or extend his stay as Germany’s manager beyond the end of this summer’s Euros.
Falk tweeted: “Exclusive: @NUFC is interested in Julian Nagelsmann (36) for summer.
“The German National coach has not decided yet if he want to return to a club or sign a new contract Nagelsmann is in the same agency like Newcastle‘s Fabian Schär.”
Liverpool have been linked with Nagelsmann too
Liverpool are on the hunt for a new manager after Jurgen Klopp announced last month that he would be stepping down at the end of this season.
The Reds, who won the Carabao Cup last weekend, have been heavily linked with Xabi Alonso, while Roberto De Zerbi’s name has also been mentioned.
According to the Telegraph, the other name said to be on Liverpool’s shortlist is Julian Nagelsmann. Klopp himself is a big fan of his compatriot and has branded him as a ‘big coaching talent‘.
Borussia Dortmund want him too, so it looks like he will not be short of offers this summer.
