Liverpool have a real shot at challenging for the Premier League title this season.
The Reds have been brilliant in the early part of this campaign, but over the past two weeks, there’ve been signs that their performances are starting to dip.
Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s side seemed to be fresh out of ideas against Manchester United last week, while a late goal had to bail them out against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool seem to have lost a bit of their cutting edge, and speaking on the Premier League All Access Podcast, Scott Minto has been discussing Darwin Nunez and his recent form.
According to Minto, Nunez really needs to improve if Liverpool are to win the league.

Minto shared his verdict on the £70m Uruguayan.
“Look, Darwin Nunez played really well against West Ham, but that’s another game where he’s not on the scoresheet, I was watching Dimitar Berbatov saying about how Hojlund and Nunez just need to keep on practicing, these players are very good, but they’re paid to stick the ball in the net and if Salah isn’t around and Liverpool are to win the title, Darwin Nunez needs to step up,” Minto said.
Has to step up
Minto is right, Nunez does need to step up, especially when Salah isn’t there to bail him out.
The Egyptian King is set for about a month away in January as he heads to the African Cup of Nations, and Nunez needs to make sure that Liverpool get through that period unscathed.
In his current form, he won’t be able to pick up the baton from Salah, but, if he can rediscover some confidence and find his scoring touch again, Liverpool should be fine.
Nunez’s form during that period will have a big bearing on whether or not the Reds can actually win the league.
