‘My head says’: Michael Owen shares who he actually thinks will win the Premier League now

Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are all duking it out for the right to be called Premier League champions this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side currently top the table, but Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola will both want to continue their stranglehold on the Premier League, and are well-placed to leapfrog the Gunners at a moment’s notice.

Whether the trophy ends up at Anfield, the Emirates or the Etihad remains to be seen, but with just 10 games to go, the title race is more difficult to predict than ever before.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Michael Owen has had a go at predicting who will win the league this season, and he says that while his heart says Liverpool and he believes that the Reds have the easiest run-in, his head and his logic tell him that Manchester City will, once again, be champions.

Michael Owen backs Man City to win the league

The pundit shared his verdict on how the title race will pan out.

“I think they have the easiest run-in as well. My heart of course says Liverpool. I think it would be the most incredible story. Jurgen Klopp’s last season, but I do think Man City are the best team in the world at the moment and I can see them going into overdrive. My head says Manchester City,” Owen said.

Difficult to back against

As boring as it is to see City winning the league on a yearly basis, there’s a reason they’re being named as favourites here.

They’ve been here and done it all before, and, if we’re being honest, they have the strongest squad.

They won the treble last season for a reason, and, in all honesty, we wouldn’t back against them repeating the trick once again.

City are almost impossible to back against in this title race, and we wouldn’t be at all shocked if Owen’s prediction rings true come May.
