Liverpool have had an up and down season.
The Reds looked like the real deal for the majority of this campaign, challenging at the very top of the Premier League.
However, in recent weeks, the Merseyside club have slumped, and many of their key players’ performance levels have dropped.
Speaking on Off The Ball, Mark Lawrenson has been reviewing Liverpool’s season, and he’s reserved some special praise for Harvey Elliott, claiming that he’s been the biggest gamechanger for Liverpool this season.

Lawrenson spoke about the £4m man and the impact he’s been having.
“By the way, the great thing for him is that he hasn’t sulked when he’s been on the bench. But I must say that he’s changed the game when he’s come on more than anybody else in the squad. I’m not sure if he’s claiming the goal last night, but he can try,” Lawrenson said.
Harvey Elliott keeps on improving
Lawrenson isn’t wrong, Elliott has perhaps been the most impactful player Liverpool have consistently brought off the bench this season.
Whether he plays in midfield or on the wing, Elliott always manages to find a way to impact games.
The 21-year-old seems to have added an extra level of dynamism to his game this season, while he’s always been very good on the ball, he’s now a much more powerful and energetic runner, while his shooting ability has come on leaps and bounds as well.
The midfielder has hit form at the right time, and who knows? Perhaps a call-up to this summer’s Euros squad beckons.
The sky appears to be the limit for this young man, and Liverpool’s next manager will be very lucky to inherit such a fantastic player in such a brilliant young squad.
Elliott has bags of potential, that’s for sure.
