We’re heading into the business-end of the Premier League season.
The title race is, of course, the centre of attention, and there is a champion to be crowned come the end of the campaign.
However, away from the title race, there are also some individual accolades to be decided including the Player of the Year award.
Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been discussing who he’d pick for his Player of the Year, and he says that one Liverpool player would be a major contender for him.

Seaman spoke about his Player of the Year contenders and he narrowed it down to Virgil van Dijk and Declan Rice, claiming that he’d pick Van Dijk ahead of Rodri.
“If I had to pick between Rodri and Van Dijk, I’d go with Van Dijk, I think he’s had more of an influence. So it’s between Van Dijk or Rice,” Seaman said.
Virgil van Dijk’s immense season
Whether or not Van Dijk is better than Rodri is up for debate, but what you can’t deny is that Van Dijk has had an immense season at Liverpool.
The Reds are top of the league for a reason, and their stellar defensive efforts this term have been massive in their success up until this point.
Van Dijk did have a dip last season, there’s no doubt about that, but the centre-back has been back to his very best this time around, and that’s why Liverpool sit at the very top of the pile at the moment.
If Van Dijk can keep this up for the next eight games, there’s every chance Liverpool will be champions come the end of the season.
