Liverpool’s summer transfer window was absolutely brilliant.
The Reds signed four midfield players in the summer, and every single one of them has proven to be a hit.
However, at times, the summer window looked like it wasn’t going to plan.
Indeed, while the Reds did sign four fantastic players, they missed out on a number of top targets too.
Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia both headed to Stamford Bridge rather than Anfield, and, perhaps most crucially, Jude Bellingham headed to Real Madrid instead of Liverpool.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Sam Allardyce has been discussing Liverpool missing out on some of their targets and he says that Bellingham could’ve been perfect for the Reds, claiming that he could’ve won the league for Liverpool.

Allardyce spoke about the £100m man.
“They’re not the biggest of spenders which is a burden. I think you get a little frustrated by that when you miss out on players, like we all would, like Bellingham. Do you know what I mean, the one signing you want or need for Liverpool is Jude Bellingham that one player might clinch them the title, do you know what I mean?” Allardyce said.
Good enough
Jude Bellingham certainly would’ve been a great addition to this Liverpool side, but let’s not pretend as though the Reds haven’t been doing brilliantly without him.
Indeed, while Bellingham has been fantastic for Real Madrid, Dominik Szobsoszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have both been truly amazing for Liverpool too.
You could argue that Bellingham would win the league for Liverpool, but they couldn’t do much better than they’re doing right now – they’ve lost just one game all season for goodness sake.
This Liverpool team is absolutely brilliant, and it’s harsh to say that they would be better with any other squad make-up.
