The right-back has completely redefined what it means to be a full-back in the modern game, but he’s not the only full-back who makes huge attacking contributions.
Indeed, while Alexander-Arnold may be the top dog down the right side, Alphonso Davies is just as devastating down that left flank for Bayern Munich.
Speaking to Goal on TikTok, Serbia striker, Dejan Joveljic has been making his dream five-a-side team made up of a number of players from across Europe, and he was asked to pick between Davies and Alexander-Arnold as his defensive option.
The LA Galaxy ace, picked Alexander-Arnold over Davies, claiming that he’s a big fan of the Liverpool star because of his crossing ability and the number of assists he gets.

“Maybe Alexander-Arnold, he has a good cross and he assists a lot of goals,” Joveljic said.
Both brilliant
Davies and Alexander-Arnold are two very different players, but they’re both brilliant in their own ways.
While Alexander-Arnold is more of a David Beckham-type playmaker who devastates opposition defences with his incredible crossing ability and amazing passing range, Davies is much more of a direct attacking threat at full-back, using his pace to drive at defences and get teams on the backfoot.
Both players can be incredibly effective in different systems, and while we’re big fans of both, it has to be said that Alexander-Arnold has been the better player this season for Liverpool as Bayern Munich continue to struggle in the Bundesliga.
