One Liverpool player has now been described as being in a “bad situation” at Anfield ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Reds largely have a settled squad, with one of Europe’s best in between the sticks in Alisson Becker, a colossal defender in Virgil van Dijk, a classy midfield operator in Alexis Mac Allister, and of course, Mohamed Salah in attack.

However, one man is struggling for playing time, and has now been told he finds himself in a “bad situation” at Liverpool amid reports he could leave…

Ryan Gravenberch told he is in a “bad situation” at Liverpool

It was Ronald Koeman who told Ryan Gravenberch that he is somewhat lucky to be named in the Netherlands squad for UEFA EURO 2024 after a tough debut campaign at Anfield.

The Liverpool No.38 moved to Anfield in a £34.2m deal from Bayern Munich back in September 2023 to much fanfare.

However, the Dutchman made just 12 Premier League starts in total, ultimately failing to build on the promising start to life on Merseyside which led Jamie Carragher to compare him to Patrick Vieira.

Now, Koeman has sent Gravenberch something of a warning shot in regards to his place in the Netherlands squad.

The 61-year-old told De Telegraaf: “Gravenberch has fallen into a bit of a bad situation. The choice (to call him up) was made based on the talent I see in him, but he hasn’t played much.”

Dutchman could leave Anfield

A story by Fotomac in Turkey claims that Galatasaray are looking to continue their recent recruitment drive by bringing Gravenberch to Istanbul – after signing Wilfried Zaha, Mauro Icardi, Hakim Ziyech, Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele in 2023.

Talk of Gravenberch leaving Liverpool only grew stronger amid a claim from Football Transfers – who state that the Netherlands international was left furious by Jurgen Klopp’s decision to quit, having hoped to be guided by the German at Anfield.

Of course, it would still be a huge shock if Gravenberch left Liverpool after just one season, although with these rumours swirling around, anything could happen – especially after Koeman shared his blunt views on how things are going for the midfielder on Merseyside.
