A Tottenham Hotspur player who has been linked with a move away from the club in recent days is reportedly ‘likely’ to start at Liverpool on Sunday.
It has been a difficult few weeks for Ange Postecoglou as his side have hit a poor run of form at the worst possible time.
Heading into the game at Newcastle last month, Tottenham were right in the mix for a top-four finish. But a 4-0 defeat at St James Park followed by back-to-back London derby defeats against Arsenal and Chelsea has likely resigned them to a spot in the Europa League.
Thursday’s 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge was particularly disappointing as Chelsea were without 14 first-team players on the night.
Spurs offered up a lacklustre performance in west London, with Postecoglou visibly furious at his players on the touchline.
The Aussie has since admitted that there ‘has to be change’ and it’s led to claims that a few key players could head out the door this summer.

With Postecoglou looking to improve his squad over the summer, it was claimed just yesterday that Spurs are ready to listen to offers for Richarlison.
The Brazilian arrived for a £60 million fee back in the summer of 2022 and after an underwhelming first year in north London, he’s displayed plenty of promise under Postecoglou.
Indeed, the 26-year-old has netted 11 times in 30 games and stepped up while Heung-min Son was at the Asian Cup earlier this year.
Despite claims that Spurs are willing to offload the Brazil star, he’s expected to keep his place in Postecoglou’s side for today’s trip to Anfield.
That’s according to The Evening Standard, with the outlet reporting that both Richarlison and Son are ‘likely’ to continue in attack.

Richarlison was handed his first start since February at Chelsea on Thursday after a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
The ‘magnificent’ forward certainly looked like a player who had barely featured over the past couple of months and was replaced in the 63rd minute.
It was a quiet evening for Richarlison and he was among Tottenham’s worst performers on the night, picking up a 6.8 match rating from Sofascore.
63 minutes played 19 touches 8/11 accurate passes 0 key passes 3/ 4 ground duels won 5 times possession lost 2 clearancesSpurs will certainly need to see improvements from their attacking players if they wish to pick up a rare win at Anfield today.
You can understand why Richarlison was off the pace against Chelsea but he should be more than up for today as he returns to his old rivals Liverpool.
