Sam Allardyce has told the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast he can’t believe Arsenal and Liverpool didn’t try to sign Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham came through the ranks at Birmingham City before becoming the star he is today.
The 19-year-old completed a switch to Borussia Dortmund back in 2020 and is now one of the brightest prospects in world football.
The England international has put in some dazzling displays in Germany and emerged as a top talent in the Champions League.
Now, Allardyce says he can’t believe England’s top teams didn’t sign Bellingham back in 2020.

Allardyce told the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast that he feels Bellingham shouldn’t have moved to Germany.
“I don’t think he should have gone [to Germany],” he said.
“I think Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal or Liverpool missed a magnificent opportunity to snap him up.
“Birmingham at this stage are always going to be struggling for cash, and looking to capitalise on such a great player that they had.”

It’s easy to say that Arsenal or Liverpool should have signed Bellingham now that he has gone on to become the talent he is today.
But it would have been hard to predict that the Dortmund man would develop into such a well-rounded player at such a young age.
Bellingham has also benefited massively from playing regular football in the Bundesliga, with Dortmund probably being the best place in the world for talented youngsters to play their football.
If Bellingham had moved to Arsenal or Liverpool at just 17-years-old, there’s no guarantee that he would have been playing regular first-team football.
Of course, all of the top sides will probably now regret not signing Bellingham, with his price-tag now reportedly set at least £100 million.
Yet, his rise over the past two years is partly down to playing regular football at the top level with Dortmund.
