Liverpool and Manchester United played out another entertaining game at Old Trafford today that ended in a 2-2 draw and Nemanja Vidic was seriously impressed by one player
The point keeps Liverpool still involved in the title race but now it is no longer in their own hands, with Arsenal top on goal difference.
For United, it was yet another chaotic performance. At times, they were cut apart as the midfield of Casemiro, Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo struggled to deal with Liverpool’s intensity. But on the flipside, they fought back into the game and might even have won it on another day.
Of course, United’s opening goal – a fine finish from Bruno Fernandes – came after young Liverpool defender Jarrell Quansah had made a poor pass across his own half.

And commenting on Quansah’s performance, a man who knows a thing or two about defending, Nemanja Vidic, lauded the youngster.

Speaking on Premier League Productions about the performance of Quansah after his mistake, Serbian star Vidic admitted he was really impressed with what he saw.
“It’s an obvious mistake, but I have to say, after that he was magnificent. He showed personality and that’s what it takes to play for a big club like Liverpool. It’s too easy to concede a goal like Liverpool did. Obviously, a great finish by Bruno. I made some mistakes during my career at Man United,” Vidic said.
“The most important attribute is don’t make another mistake, so praise to him. He is a young boy. He was strong enough physically to finish the game well.”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also spoke highly of Quansah after the game and simply brushed the mistake away, admitting things happen.
For a defender so young, Quansah was hugely impressive in fairness to him.
A lot of young players might have wilted after such a monumental error in such a big game.
But Jarrell Quansah showed guts to go with the obvious quality and Liverpool fans will rightly be delighted by their young defender.
