Darwin Nunez was the Liverpool hero at Nottingham Forest as he headed in late on from Alexis Mac Allister’s cross to seal three points.
The win kept Liverpool top of the pile heading into the rest of the weekend’s games, with Man City due to take on Man United and Arsenal facing Sheffield United on Monday Night Football.
For Liverpool, it felt like one of those wins that changes a season and for Darwin Nunez, it felt like a massive individual moment as well.

And after posting on Instagram to celebrate the win, Nunez himself made sure he was quick in the comments to show his appreciation for the £35m midfielder.
Nunez commented “Mucha magia hermano y que mate te hiciste jajaja”, which effectively translates as him calling Mac Allister ‘magic’.

There was a reason why Liverpool spent the money to sign Mac Allister from Brighton and as the season goes on, he’s getting better and better.
He’s played across the whole midfield for Liverpool this season and always done well but recently, he seems to really have got going just nudging himself that touch further forward.
Mac Allister very much looks like a true Liverpool midfielder right now and with so much talent at the club, he’s done brilliantly to cement himself.
The word ‘magic’ is often used loosely in football and sports in general. But that moment of quality and composure today was very much magic and helped the Reds to a huge win.
Mac Allister looks an absolute steal now at £35m and with players to come back from injury as well, Liverpool are right in the mix here to land their second Premier League title.
