There has now been an interesting development involving Richard Hughes amid interest from Liverpool.
It was Gianluca Di Marzio who provided the information.
So, what is the latest on Richard Hughes and Liverpool? Let’s take a look…
Richard Hughes set to leave Bournemouth
Well – according to Di Marzio – Bournemouth’s Director of Football is set to leave the Vitality Stadium at the end of the season.
The reliable Italian journalist adds that Hughes is actually now Liverpool’s first choice to replace Jorg Schmadtke as Sporting Director at Anfield.
Therefore, the timing of this update is certainly interesting – to say the least.

A story from The Times interestingly adds that the Glaswegian already knows what club he will join this summer, with Roma also keen on securing his signature.
Alternatives for Liverpool
If Roma – or another side – end up hiring Hughes, there are some alternatives for Fenway Sports Group (FSG) to explore.
One of those is Edwards himself, who FSG are desperate to bring back to Liverpool – according to Fabrizio Romano.
Tim Steidten of West Ham has also been mentioned as a potential replacement for Schmadtke, according to the Daily Mail.

The Englishman actually signed the likes of Heung-min Son and Toby Alderweireld at Spurs for small fees, so his record in recruitment certainly stands out.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Liverpool continue to prepare for life after Jurgen Klopp and Schmadtke.
