Liverpool are currently in pursuit of a new manager to take over from Jurgen Klopp after he leaves Anfield at the end of the season.
The Reds boss stunned the football world earlier this year when he announced his intention to step down from his current role in the summer.
There have been numerous twists and turns in Liverpool’s search for a new manager. For instance, Xabi Alonso was the favourite, but he has since decided to stay at Bayer Leverkusen.
We then had heavy speculation around the Reds and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim, but now a new name has begun being heavily linked with the Anfield role.

What has been said about Liverpool and Arne Slot state of play?
Several reports have begun doing the rounds. For instance, the Evening Standard has reported that Slot is at the top of the Anfield wish-list to replace Klopp.
Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo has reported that the Dutchman fits all the criteria that Liverpool and FSG have set out in the process of finding their new manager.
And Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool and Slot have already held direct talks, with more in the pipeline.
The 45-year-old has been superb for Feyenoord in recent years, leading them to the Eredivisie title last year and the Dutch Cup this term.
Although Slot hasn’t worked in the Premier League before, this isn’t the first time he has been linked with a job in the English top flight.
Last year, the Dutchman was said to be a target for both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. However, he ended up joining neither.
There were conflicting reports as to whether Slot snubbed Spurs or vice versa, while the Blues apparently couldn’t convince him to take the Stamford Bridge reins.
Indeed, according to Algemeen Dagblad – as translated by Goal.com – Todd Boehly actually picked the Dutchman up in a private jet for talks, but to no avail.
What could Liverpool fans expect from Arne Slot if he joins the Reds?
Can Liverpool now succeed where Chelsea and Spurs failed? His credentials and style of play would certainly tick a lot of boxes for the Reds.
For instance, Alasdair Gold described Slot’s philosophy as a “Pochettino in the making”, while Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan also provided a glowing endorsement of the 45-year-old.
“The best thing about Arne Slot is that he is probably the best attacking coach I have seen in the last 35-40 years at Feyenoord,” he told talkSPORT.
“He is very similar to Pep Guardiola, his ideas are very similar, he is a massive fan of Pep and he plays the same time.
“He goes ultra-attacking, he is almost like a maniac. Not on the touchline but it is fantastic to see how he has turned an average side into a wonderful attacking machine.”
