Liverpool are now interested in signing a Brazilian star who could be a key figure of Arne Slot’s new era at Anfield.
Even before Arne Slot’s appointment was announced, Liverpool’s recruitment staff will have been working diligently to identify targets who can help the Dutchman imprint his own style at the club.

And whilst that makes it much easier for Slot to achieve results initially, it could make it slightly more challenging to implement his new philosophy.
That being said, there should be capacity for the Dutchman to introduce a few of his own new signings, especially with the likes of Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara leaving.
And to that end, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has just shared a Liverpool transfer update over on X.
The journalist was initially reporting Liverpool’s interest in PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko – admiration that has existed since March last year.
But when delivering the news, Tavolieri also confirmed that Barcelona’s Raphinha is on the radar.
Liverpool considering move for Brazilian winger Raphinha as Mohamed Salah replacement
Sharing his update, the journalist suggested that these plans were in preparation for the possibility of Mohamed Salah leaving the club.
Tavolieri explained: “Johan Bakayoko considered as one of the names on the table of Liverpool FC for this summer.

“Belgian Red Devil wants in priority to join a club which plays Champions League football. It’s very likely that his transfer from PSV happened after Euro 2024.
“Transfer fee will be lower than the 50M€ PSV’s expectations.
“Borussia Dortmund & RB Leipzig are the other concrete possibilities for Bakayoko this summer. No news from PSG so far.
“Reds conscious that they will have to apply other plans like Raphinha (also on the short-list) on the right wing to replace Mo Salah in case of departure.”
Raphinha could be the perfect winger for Arne Slot at Anfield
Perhaps some Liverpool fans will consider Raphinha as a slightly more exciting option, certainly one who would be better ready for the Premier League immediately.
The £50m-rated Brazilian seems to have endured a mixed time at Barcelona, but has demonstrated his ‘extraordinary’ ability in the Champions League for Xavi’s side this season.
And whether Mohamed Salah leaves the club or not, a player of his quality, one who would suit Slot’s reliance on his wingers to create chances, would surely be very welcome.
That being said, Liverpool have recently sent their scouts to watch another exciting winger in person as they ramp up their summer plans.
