Liverpool FC players were in international action last night. We begin with Scotland and Portugal at Hampden Park in Glasgow, where both teams matched themselves to a goalless stalemate. Andy Robertson captained the Scots, with Ben Doak also featuring for 67 minutes. Diogo Jota played for 60 minutes before being substituted off for Portugal.
Conor Bradley once again captained Northern Ireland after doing so for the first time last weekend. He played the full 90 minutes in Belfast as the home side delivered an emphatic 5-0 win against Bulgaria in the UEFA Nations League.
Meanwhile, in U21 European Championship qualifying, Jarell Quansah helped keep a clean sheet in England’s 7-0 victory over Azerbaijan, which saw the Young Lions officially secure a spot at next summer’s tournament as group winners. Tyler Morton came on as a substitute in the second half.
Also in qualifying action, Calvin Ramsay was an unused substitute for Scotland’s U21s in a 3-2 defeat by Kazakhstan.
For the U19s, Amara Nallo played the first 45 minutes of England’s 4-2 friendly victory versus France in Marbella. For the USA, Keyrol Figueroa was a second-half substitute for the in a 3-2 friendly win against Japan.
For the Republic of Ireland U19s, Trent Kone-Doherty recorded an assist as they beat Mexico 2-0 in a friendly tournament in Croatia.
Last but not least, in the Concacaf Nations League, Kyle Kelly started St. Kitts and Nevis’ 1-1 draw with the Cayman Islands, playing 57 minutes before coming off.
