An update has emerged on Liverpool target Jeremie Frimpong as Bayern Munich enter the race to sign the Dutchman.

Well, there have been plenty of rumours involving Liverpool and the Netherlands international lately.
A story by Depor claimed that the Reds want to sign Frimpong following some outstanding performances at right wing-back for Bayer Leverkusen.
Then – according to TEAMtalk – it was said that Xabi Alonso would also like to bring the Bayer Leverkusen No.30 with him to Anfield if the Spaniard replaces Jurgen Klopp.
That is not all – Frimpong even admitted he would like to join Liverpool.
The 23-year-old told Ziggo Sports: “Liverpool? Great club, with history. That (a move) would be great. Who knows what the future will bring.”

The man from Amsterdam has played a huge part in Bayer Leverkusen sitting ten points clear at the top of the Bundesliga this season, scoring ten goals while also providing ten assists in 30 appearances.

Liverpool are not the only side looking at Frimpong.
Plettenburg adds that Bayern Munich are also keen to sign the Dutchman, with his performances impressing those in the boardroom at the Allianz Arena.
The Sky Germany journalist adds that Bayern Munich will become even more interested if they replace Thomas Tuchel with a coach who uses wing-backs.

Clearly, Liverpool will not have a free run at the man likened to Achraf Hakimi.
