Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham have also submitted claims in the ongoing case against Manchester City,
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham have all filed legal notices that they will seek financial compensation from Manchester City for their 115+ charged breaches of Premier League financial regulations should the Abu Dhabi-owned club be found guilty.
That’s the latest in the ongoing case against the Manchester-based sportswashing front for a human rights abusing petrostate according to recent reports from The Times, who say the four clubs were forced to submit their claims ahead of a final ruling in the case or risk time limitations leaving them unable to claim damages after the fact.
Legally in the United Kingdom, there is a six-year window for the injured party to seek compensation in breach of contract cases that begins either from the date the breaches were committed or—in cases such as this where claimed breaches were hidden—they were made public.
Revelations regarding the 115+ breaches City are now accused of were first reported in Germany’s Der Spiegel in November, 2018, leaving clubs believing they had been impacted to act now with City and their agents seeking to drag the case out as long as possible.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham are not the only English clubs potentially impacted—any club that missed out on a league title or European qualification could have submitted a claim—but the four are certainly the highest profile sides to have been impacted by City side credibly accused of financial doping.
