Kobbie Mainoo is the name on everybody’s lips right now amid his stunning rise at Manchester United – and his remarkable goal against Liverpool.
The 18-year-old netted just his second Premier League goal in some style during last Sunday’s 2-2 draw between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford, deliciously curling the ball into the top right corner to make his star shine ever brighter.
Manchester United’s No.37 is also a firm favourite to make Gareth Southgate’s England squad for UEFA EURO 2024 this summer – he is undoubtedly one of the most precocious talents around right now.
However, Liverpool actually have a young talent of their own who is deemed to be more valuable than Kobbie Mainoo…
Liverpool No.38 Ryan Gravenberch is more valuable than Kobbie Mainoo
Well – according to the CIES Football Observatory – Liverpool No.38 Ryan Gravenberch is more valuable than the wonderkid from Stockport.
Mainoo’s meteoric rise at Old Trafford has seen his valuation soar from just €3m (£2.6m) up to €53m (£45.3m) – making him the seventh most improved young talent in Europe behind Lamine Yamal, Joao Neves, Savio, Cole Palmer, Jorrel Hato, Endrick and Jeremy Doku.
Despite the teenager’s €50m (£42.8m) surge up the CIES Football Observatory’s rankings, he is still valued below Gravenberch, who is regarded as a €62m (£53m) footballer.

21-year-old is a gem
Gravenberch has made just ten starts in the Premier League following his £34.2m move from Bayern Munich back in September 2023 – as Jurgen Klopp prefers the trio of Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in midfield.
Nevertheless, the Netherlands international was widely regarded as the wonderkid in football during his days at Ajax – before stagnating at Bayern Munich – and the fact he is currently valued higher than Mainoo, despite experiencing an underwhelming season, pretty much says it all.

The reliable Italian journalist claimed that those at Anfield believe the Amsterdam-born maestro can become a genuine superstar one day.
Liverpool fans must therefore not forget what a huge talent Gravenberch actually is – hopefully, whoever replaces Klopp this summer can find a way to get the best out of him next season.
That man could well be Ruben Amorim, by the sounds of it…
