More fans can be welcomed at the home ground
The record attendance at Liverpool’s Anfield ground last season was 60,090 as the redevelopment of the ground allowed for “new” records repeatedly throughout 2023/24.
Ahead of the 2024/25 season the club have confirmed a new official capacity of 61,276, though this number, too, will rise as the redevelopment rumbles on. Historically, the record attendance at Anfield was 61,905 back in 1952 during an FA Cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers — long before all-seated stadiums limited ground capacity.
The new larger ground will be visible in theory for two friendlies over the coming week ahead of the kick-off of the new season, as Liverpool host Sevilla and Las Palmas on Sunday behind closed doors (though the matches can be streamed on LFCTV Go).
The first home fixture of the new season will be on August 25th as the Reds host Brentford.
