Liverpool face a quick turnaround in games as they head to Crystal Palace in Saturday’s early Premier League kickoff.

The Reds last played on Wednesday night, getting the better of struggling Sheffield United on their own patch.

Now, Liverpool will hope to leapfrog Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, for a few hours at least, when they head to Selhurst Park.

Reds midfielder Alexis Mac Allister looks likely to sit the Palace game out following a knock to his ankle in midweek.

“Mac Allister doesn’t look good, so we’ll have to see day by day,” Klopp told reporters – as transcribed by the Evening Standard – on Friday ahead of the match.

“They were pretty hopeful after the game that it was not that serious but in this time of year if you’re out for five days it’s 12 games pretty much.

“So we have to wait there and see how he shows up today. I don’t expect him to be ready for tomorrow but I don’t know about after that. It’s touch and go.”

With that in mind, there’s a good chance Wataru Endo will keep his place in the Liverpool starting XI.

Liverpool ace Wataru Endo was ‘everywhere’ in midweek

The £16million summer signing is starting to move up the gears at Anfield, which is great to see.

Last time out, he gave a great account of himself, battling hard for the ball and doing well in possession.

Indeed, Klopp sung his praises after the Blades game. He said: “Wataru Endo. Wow. He was outstanding. He was everywhere. He really helped us a lot.”

Endo was a somewhat out-of-the-blue signing for Liverpool the summer, the Reds quickly wrapping up his signing after missing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

The 31-year-old came to Liverpool with a lot of experience and talent, not to mention leadership qualities, having captained Stuttgart and Japan.

Admittedly, Endo needed a little time to find his feet at Anfield. That’s not surprising really, considering how intense the Premier League is.

Now, he looks set for an extended run in the team, and let’s hope he can carry on with the good work in red.
