David James has outlined how Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could beat Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Anfield.
The former Liverpool goalkeeper has named two Arsenal players that the Reds should target.
So, what has David James said about Liverpool against Arsenal? Let’s take a look.
Liverpool told to target Arsenal duo Martin Odegaard and David Raya
Well, Liverpool will lock horns with Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
I think that it is going to be a fascinating game of football. Both the Reds and the Gunners are aiming to win the league title this season.
Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James believes that Jurgen Klopp’s side could win against Arsenal.
The BBC Sport pundit has urged Klopp to include Curtis Jones in the starting lineup against Mikel Arteta’s side.
James has said that Liverpool need to target Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard and goalkeeper David Raya.
The pundit believes that if Liverpool keep 25-year-old Odegaard quiet and take shots at Raya in goal, then they will win.

“I think he is their out-and-out best player. I know the other players have got individual quality, the likes of Saka very impressive to watch, but Odegaard pulls the strings,
“He gets the opposition out of position in order for him to sort of control the game, and I have seen Manchester City do it on a number of occasions, keep him quiet, and all of a sudden, Arsenal don’t know how to function. If Curtis Jones starts, I think Liverpool could win this 3-1.
“And the other thing is David Raya is going to start without question. His positioning is questionable, and if I am a Liverpool player, Trent Alexander-Arnold in particular, I am shooting from funny places and possibly scoring.”
Odegaard has to rise to the occasion
Martin Odegaard has not always been at his best this season. While the 25-year-old playmaker is starting to get into form now, there have been occasions such as the match against Brentford when he was quiet.
We know that Odegaard is a very good and creative midfielder. I think that the former Real Madrid player will have to rise to the occasion and be the leader that we know he is.
