'Just no escape': Harry Redknapp shares why he thinks Jurgen Klopp has had enough at Liverpool now

9 months ago 166

Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season and Harry Redknapp has been having his say on the matter.

The experienced Redknapp knows all about the life and rigours of a Premier League manager. Redknapp had spells in charge of Tottenham, West Ham and Portsmouth to name but a few in a glittering managerial career.

Now out of the game barring the odd bit of TV work here and there, Redknapp is free to comment on things from afar when it comes to the beautiful game.

And speaking about Liverpool and Klopp’s separation this coming summer, Redknapp believes that the frenzy of the modern game has probably caught up with Klopp.

Harry Redknapp gives his verdict on Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool

Speaking about the situation to iNews, Klopp believes that the frantic nature of the modern game has probably just led to the German wanting a break.

“When you’re earning that money, everyone says ‘oh your life is amazing’. He just obviously feels he needs a break. You wouldn’t believe it looking at him. I watched him the other night when they won at Fulham, that big smile was there, he was loving it still. But underneath you don’t know. Pep did it, he took a year off and came back. He’ll come back and every club in the world will want him,” Redknapp said.

“There’s just no escape anymore, social media, TV. When I first started, the only interviews you did was a couple of papers who would stand in the tunnel. Then suddenly Sky comes in, there’s press conferences after games, someone’s sticking a microphone under your nose as soon as you come off the pitch, you’ve had a bad day and the last thing you want to do is be asked questions. But that is the job now.”

He’ll be back

As Redknapp says here, Jurgen Klopp will be seriously in-demand when he does decide the time is right to come back into the game.

His time at Liverpool has been a monumental success and while he’s out of the game, it’s one less brilliant manager for the other coaches to be dealing with.

Redknapp also makes a valid point here about the modern game and the constant pressure. Klopp probably just needs some time out to chill a bit and refocus his mind. Family time too, will be important.

Rest assured, though, Klopp will be back somewhere down the line in a big job.
