Jurgen Klopp left furious by what Brentford man did just after Diogo Jota was forced off in 4-1 Liverpool win

Jurgen Klopp was visibly furious at Sergio Reguilon – just seconds after Diogo Jota was forced off as Liverpool led Brentford in today’s Premier League clash.

The 56-year-old could not contain his anger as he gesticulated wildly on the touchline.

So, what annoyed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool clashed with Brentford? Let’s take a look…

Jurgen Klopp left furious with Sergio Reguilon

Well, the German had already lost Curtis Jones to injury before Jota was stretched off at the Gtech Community Stadium – all before the first half had even finished.

Therefore, you can understand why Klopp was so angry after Reguilon flew into a very late challenge on Conor Bradley, which rightly saw the Spain international pick up a yellow card.

Had the Tottenham loanee gone in any stronger on the Northern Ireland international, Liverpool may even have been forced to make three substitutes before the interval.

That would have been a nightmarish situation for Klopp, with Alisson Becker, Thiago Alcantara, Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold already sidelined.

In truth, losing both Jones and Jota with those four already out is nightmarish enough with the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea next Sunday on the horizon.

Liverpool need protection

Strangely, neither of the offences which caused Jones and Jota to pick up injuries led to Michael Oliver getting his yellow card out.

That clearly encouraged Brentford to keep up the rough treatment, and it almost cost Klopp another player in Bradley after Reguilon carelessly flew into the Liverpool No.84 earlier today.

Had a yellow card or two come out before that incident, the Spaniard may have thought twice about the challenge, so it is clear that Liverpool could do with a bit more protection from officials.

Hopefully, Liverpool can get their injured players back as soon as possible, mainly in time for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
