Julio Enciso has named Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk as the strongest player in world football.
Speaking to Goal, the Brighton attacker was asked to build his perfect footballer from a number of categories.
As you can imagine, Enciso chose the likes of Kylian Mbappe for speed as well as Lionel Messi’s left-foot, and when it came to the strength category, he picked Van Dijk as the strongest player he could think of in world football.
The Dutchman is a classy footballer, but on top of that he’s an absolute man-mountain.
Not only is Van Dijk very tall, he’s as strong as an ox, and Enciso reckons he may well be the strongest player around.

So strong
Enciso says that Van Dijk is the strongest player around, and he’s not wrong.
The Dutchman just has this uncanny ability to just shrug opposition attackers off the ball, while he also dominates at set pieces as he can charge through an backline with ease.
The defender’s ball-playing ability is often focused on, but his physical attributes are what make him one of the very best centre-backs of all-time.
Not only is Van Dijk one of the strongest players around, he’s also one of the fastest footballers we’ve seen in modern times with his huge stride length allowing him to make up ground faster than almost any attacker he faces.
Van Dijk is a physically dominant player, and Liverpool are incredibly lucky to have him at the heart of their defence, bullying strikers and starting attacks with his incredible passing ability as well.
Van Dijk is a one of a kind footballer.
