Roberto Firmino is reportedly looking for a way out of Saudi Arabia.
Just six months after arriving in the middle east. The Brazilian is looking to return to Europe.
As you can imagine, this news out of the Firmino camp has led to plenty of speculation around where he should go next.
The Brazilian has been linked to the likes of Chelsea and Fulham, and, inevitably, there has been some chat about a fairytale return to Liverpool.
However, according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on The Done Deal Show, there isn’t much to the idea of Firmino coming back to Anfield.
Indeed, Jacobs says that sources at Liverpool are downplaying the idea of Firmino making a remarkable return.

Jacobs shared what he’s heard about the Brazilian.
“In terms of Chelsea and other clubs have been linked, no direct approach at this stage, but Firmino is being offered around. Another club to look out for is Fulham, and Sheffield United have actually enquired. A return to Liverpool is being downplayed by sources, and there’s also interest from Italy and Turkey as well,” Jacobs said.
Could do worse
While Liverpool aren’t actively looking at re-signing Firmino, we’d argue that this wouldn’t be the worst signing the Reds could make.
Firmino is still a talented player, he scored 10 league goals for the Reds last season, and he’s a fan favourite at Anfield who would give the whole fanbase a lift.
For all of the Reds’ firepower, there are games where they need something different.
The game against Manchester United earlier this season is a prime example, Liverpool just couldn’t unlock that defence, and perhaps if they had a player like Firmino waiting to come on, they could’ve had more joy that day.
This wouldn’t be the worst idea the Reds have ever had, that’s for sure.
