Joe Cole has been discussing some of the best wingers in Premier League history.
Taking part in a TikTok challenge on TNT Sports’ page, Cole was asked to rank and rate some of the best wingers in the history of the league from Samir Nasri to Freddie Ljungberg.
Cole did make some interesting choices, but intriguingly, his ‘A’ category was filled by two players with links to Liverpool.

Cole had space for two players in his ‘A’ category when he was ranking these wide players.
The first player Cole put in that spot was Mohamed Salah, who is undoubtedly one of the best to ever do it in the Premier League.
Interestingly though, the second player Cole put in that spot was a player who Salah played some part in replacing at Liverpool.
Indeed, Cole put Raheem Sterling alongside Salah as one of the best wingers in Premier League history.
Raheem Sterling’s incredible legacy
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Sterling at his best, but we mustn’t forget just how brilliant he was in his pomp.
He was electric when he came through at Liverpool, but he reached a whole other level after his £50m move to Manchester City.
Sterling scored massive goals time after time for City as they won trophy after trophy, and while it’s been a rather frustrating 18 months for the England international, he’s more than cemented his legacy as one of the best wingers to ever play in the Premier League.
His trophy haul can match almost anyone and his goal record speaks for itself.
Salah will be remembered as the better player, there’s no doubt about that, but in his prime, Sterling really wasn’t that far away from the levels the Egyptian has consistently reached during his time at Liverpool.
