Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has described Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp as “relentless” ahead of their Premier League meeting this weekend.

The Whites head to Anfield hoping to bring an end to an eight-game winless run. But they’ll be up against a side capable of dealing real damage.

Liverpool have blown hot and cold this season, with some seriously disappointing results. But when they turn up, they’re devastating.

Klopp’s Reds ran out 3-0 winners at Ajax in the Champions League earlier this week, testament to how dangerous they can be.

Meanwhile, Leeds began the season brightly, winning three of their first four in all competitions.

This included a 3-0 hammering of Chelsea, which suggested that Leeds were on course for a fruitful season.

But since then, their form has taken a turn for the worse, and they’re now in the Premier League relegation zone.

‘We’re expecting their absolute best’

On Thursday, Marsch held his pre-match press conference, where he spoke about the threat Liverpool pose.

In addition, he also had kind words for the £288,000-a-week boss in the opposing dugout.

“I know Liverpool, and I’ve got to know Jurgen Klopp a bit over the years,” Marsch told the Leeds media team.

“He is relentless in his commitment to make his team better and his belief of way he does things.

“Liverpool have been one of the best in world over last four or five years.

“I think that no matter what, it’s a group of professional players who understand what the demands are.

“Their backs have been against the wall already a little bit this year, in different ways than where we are at.

“We know the quality they have, at home they’re incredibly good and the way they responded in the game against Ajax shows everything.

“We’re expecting their absolute best.”
