Jamie Carragher took to social media last night and found one word to describe Curtis Jones’ display for Liverpool against Newcastle United.
Liverpool put in an exceptional performance at Anfield on Monday night and ran out 4-2 winners over Newcastle.
The Reds created plenty of opportunities on the night, with Mohamed Salah bagging a second-half brace after missing a penalty in the first half.
It took Jurgen Klopp’s men until the 49th minute to open the scoring and despite their dominance, Alexander Isak levelled things up against the run of play just five minutes later.
Goals from Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo gave Liverpool some breathing space before Sven Botman quickly got Newcastle back into the game in the 81st minute.

Nevertheless, Salah stepped up and converted at the second time of asking to hand Klopp’s side a deserved win.
And Jamie Carragher was particularly impressed with Jones’ performance in the middle of the park.

Jones started from the off in the middle of the park and helped Liverpool completely boss the game from midfield.
The 22-year-old netted his first league goal of the campaign to round off a tireless display.
And Carragher took to X shortly after his goal and described his performance as ‘fantastic’.
Jones has picked up a couple of injuries this term and also missed three games due to suspension back in October.
Despite the Englishman’s progress being hampered slightly this season, he remains a Klopp-favourite.
Liverpool bolstered their midfield significantly over the summer but Jones continues to prove why he deserves a place in Klopp’s side.
Alexis Mac Allister’s return to action will be a huge boost for Liverpool but after Dominik Szoboszlai picked up a hamstring injury last night, Jones is likely to see plenty of gametime over the coming weeks.
