Jurgen Klopp saw his Liverpool side lose to Crystal Palace this weekend and Chris Sutton has noticed something strange about the Reds boss.
The German manager looked on in disbelief as his team struggled to get a goal against Palace.
The Reds missed a hatful of chances once again as the likes of Darwin Nunez, Mo Salah and Diogo Jota all failed to take golden opportunities.
In the end, Palace held on and with Arsenal also losing, it means the title is now in Man City’s hands.
As for Liverpool and Klopp, they must go to Italy this week and try and overturn a 3-0 deficit against Atalanta in the Europa League.
And speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off Podcast, Chris Sutton has suggested that Klopp has lost his mojo.

Speaking about Klopp and his post-match interview in particular, Sutton believes Klopp cut a dejected figure, in what he felt was a change from the norm.
“I didn’t see Palace going to Anfield and rolling Liverpool over. That was a shocker. It seems like Liverpool are just running out of energy at the the wrong time. Salah since he’s come back from injury doesn’t seem the same Mo Salah, I wonder if there’s a knock-on effect. It looked like there was a hangover from the defeat against Atalanta,” Sutton said.
“They huffed and they puffed and they’ve found a way this season. But listening to Klopp afterwards, that’s as…normally in press conferences or when speaking to the media, he’s quite spikey when he speaks to the media afterwards. But it sounded like he’s so flat and dejected. It’s going to be a horrible end to the season if they don’t pick up immediately.”
Klopp has to get Liverpool going
All is not lost for Liverpool. And Jurgen Klopp will know that.
However, it is his job and his job alone to get this team going again and ready to go to Italy and put up a big fight.
A win on Thursday could be a big game-changer in their season and it would put them in good spirits heading into the weekend’s Premier League fixtures.
If any team can come back from the brink in Europe, it’s Liverpool.
And from there, the league will take care of itself no matter what happens.
Klopp, then, will be getting into his players this week and simply can’t afford to cut the dejected figure he did at the weekend.
