Michael Owen was the latest pundit to laud Liverpool forward Mo Salah today as the Reds took on Manchester United at Anfield.
Salah went into the game with quite the goal scoring record against United and there was a clear fear among the Red Devils fans before the game.
The Liverpool forward has scored some huge goals over the years against United and he’s more than earned his place as one of the best players to ever do it on Merseyside.
And speaking about Salah before the game today, another Reds goal scoring hero, Michael Owen, was full of praise for the Egyptian and can’t quite believe how strong he is.

Speaking for Premier League Productions, Owen had some high praise for Salah.
“I mean he’s been quite incredible hasn’t he. Almost like this position of being a left-footer on the right side he’s re-written the text book there. We’ve put in a few different types of goals here because he’s not a one-trick pony.
“I don’t think he’s the most unbelievable header of the ball but this one (goal against Burnley) is just experience, his awareness. He scored a couple of goals, this one against Man City where he jinks all the way through and a similar one against Watford. I like this one (against Everton), look at people bounce off him he’s so strong it’s incredible. I know he literally lives in the gym. I did an interview with him and he couldn’t believe how little gym work we did back in the day. He works so hard to be strong as an Ox. Lots of people say he’s been underrated but I don’t think those Liverpool fans think that at all,” Owen said.
A master of his trade
It’s quite remarkable when you look at modern transfer fees that Liverpool only paid £34m to sign Mo Salah when they did.
Yes, it was a different time period and things have rapidly moved on in terms of the market. But Salah is now looking like one of the biggest bargains ever, even if he is on a healthy salary.
Salah will go down as one of the best players to ever pull on a Liverpool shirt. There are some big names in that list like Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, and more. But Salah has earned his place.
