“It’s interesting when he came on with Gakpo, all the boys looked to him,” he told The Kelly and Wrighty Show.
“You know what it’s like, Wrighty. You know a player is good when the boys are giving him the ball. When you have it and you just give it to me like, ‘go on, give us something, create something’. Mo goes inside. There’s a lot of trust in Harvey Elliott’s ability as he’s a lovely football player.”
Youngster now needs to provide more goals and assists
Elliott’s next challenge is surely to add more goals and assists to his game. His goal against Palace was his first of the season in any competition. Meanwhile, he has two assists so far.
Obviously, that is tricky when he is not playing regularly in the Premier League. But he has been a stalwart of the team in the Europa League.
He definitely has the talent to be a regular contributor in the coming years. It certainly says a lot that the Liverpool players appear to be hoping that he can make something happen when he is on the pitch.
