Alan Shearer has praised Mohamed Salah after the Egypt international shone on his return for Liverpool earlier today.
The 53-year-old made the comments when writing on X (previously known as Twitter).
So, what did Alan Shearer write about Liverpool No.11 Mohamed Salah? Let’s take a look…
Alan Shearer hails Mohamed Salah
Well, the 31-year-old had not appeared for Liverpool since the 4-2 win over Newcastle at Anfield on New Year’s Day.
Salah then departed for the Africa Cup of Nations – where he damaged his hamstring – although the Egyptian was back on the bench for Jurgen Klopp in today’s 4-1 win over Brentford.
The German probably did not want to call upon his talisman so soon after he recovered, although injuries to Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota during the opening 45 minutes saw Salah summoned from the bench.
It was like the £34m man had never been away, as he scored and also provided an assist for Alexis Mac Allister to fire Liverpool to a comprehensive win.
Like us, Shearer was very impressed by Salah’s instant impact.
The man from Gosforth wrote: “What an incredible player @MoSalah is 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #BRELIV”.

Liverpool will be relieved
Some Liverpool fans were surely nervous when Salah departed for the Africa Cup of Nations – and probably felt even worse after seeing the forward pick up an injury in the Ivory Coast.
The man from Nagrig – who those in the boardroom at Anfield are reportedly willing to lose for free – is so important to the Reds, and any lengthy spell on the sidelines surely would have cost Liverpool in the title race.

Now – despite injuries to Jota and Jones today – Liverpool can focus on surging towards trophies with Salah back and firing, starting with next Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
