Italian side Juventus may now be ready to steal the march on Liverpool in a move for Boca Juniors full-back Valentin Barco.
Liverpool were linked with a move for Barco earlier this month, a 19-year-old who is attracting a lot of attention around Europe.

Galetti said that Juventus are now monitoring Barco, and also mentioned that Inter Milan are still interested.
He said: “Juventus put Valentin Barco in their sights.
“Many clubs in Europe are following the Argentinian. In May, the left-back has been proposed – among others – to Inter Milan and the ]club] are still interested.
“Boca – on their side – are trying to extend his contract, which expires in December 2024.”
Galetti does allude to Barco’s expiring contract, and that deal is reported to contain an £8m release clause.
Therefore, a move for Barco could represent excellent value for many top clubs in Europe – so it shouldn’t be a surprise to see both Juventus and Liverpool linked.
Juventus are now interested in Valentin Barco who has been linked with Liverpool
Given all of the progress Liverpool have made with their squad in recent transfer windows, it would seem logical that defensive reinforcements were targeted next.
Trent Alexander-Arnold doesn’t have a natural replacement in the squad, even if there are some promising understudies.

Liverpool were linked with a move for Brighton Hove Albion’s Pervis Estupinan in the summer, one that could be very exciting.
But as Jurgen Klopp and his colleagues will have realised with Moises Caicedo, Brighton will demand a sizable fee.
Therefore, at the price mentioned, Barco could be an excellent long-term option for a club like Liverpool – as Juventus seem to agree.
Liverpool are unlikely to be too active in January, a club who tends to prefer to do their business in the summer.
But amid links to Barco, the defender could represent a shrewd piece of business on Merseyside.
